Welcome
Welcome to the Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation Research Group of Padova (NIBS Padova). We are part of the Department of General Psychology of the University of Padova.
We use non-invasive brain stimulation in order to achieve new insights on the functioning of the human brain and the complex relationship between brain and mind. By modulating cortical excitability and plasticity, we can establish causal links between neural responses and related functions.
Our research covers various areas of investigation, from cognitive neuroscience to perception, to actions and motor responses. Focus of our investigations is basic research, but we are also interested in potential rehab applications.
Besides research, we also provide education and training on the use of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, both transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tES).
