Tania Moretta

I am a clinical psychologist with sub-specialty training in clinical psychophysiology. I have firstly trained at Sapienza, University of Rome, receiving an MS with Honors in Cognitive Neuroscience and later, a PhD in Psychological Sciences at the University of Padova, the latter partially concurrent with a research period at the Department of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine. Currently, I am one of the Principal Investigators of an international project on the psychological mechanisms underlying the problematic use of social media. I have national and international research experience and several collaborations that constantly inspire my work. The main research focus is the study of psychophysiological mechanisms at the basis of motivational and affective dysfunctions in psychopathology (i.e., problematic use of the Internet and social media, gambling, substance use disorder, and affective disorders) and the use of new technologies as a tool for the promotion of emotion-regulation skills in young adults. My interests are too many! In addition to research itself, politics, philosophy, walking for a long time, new wave music, music, and “pasta alla gricia”.
