Prevention and early intervention for mental health problems in college students

Mental health problems are highly prevalent in college students, have profound impact on their quality of life, study success and later career. The “World Health Organization World Mental Health International College Student initiative” (WMH-ICS) is aimed at developing and implementing a system for improving prevention and early interventions for mental health problems among college students across the world. It consists of an epidemiological part, an intervention development part, and an implementation part. E-health is a central element in the initiative. In this presentation the goals and components WMH-ICS initiative will be presented, as well as the role of e-health in the treatment of mental health problems.
